It's tough for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The top summits have long been mastered.

We're talking about the team that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to another six T20 titles, and once went over three years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, the ones sought by the achievement hunters, are all that remain for a squad that has achieved everything.

The fact it required until Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase exceeding 300, reclaiming their record for the biggest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, frankly, a tribute to the pitchers that have represented Australia over five decades.

It is hard for their batters to possess a record if not provided the possibility.

In the end, the consequence of Australia giving up 330 runs was leader Alyssa Healy being given a chance to produce her most recent brilliance.

Certain people claim the argument supporting championship match pressure. Others can counter with the test that comes when confronting a historic chase and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's definite is this ton was considerably tougher to see coming.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 occurred when she was the highest scorer, but this innings came after six matches in India since the start of last month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"If you've observed me in the nets, it has been a challenging time because I feel like I lacked timing completely," commented Healy.

"A chance to go out there and lock in a contest with her and just have a bit of fun in that aspect, sort of got me going," stated Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 pitches - her swiftest at a World Cup - and her ton in 84 deliveries while she flogged anything short, striking 21 boundaries and three sixes.

Once she was out her side needed 66 more at run per delivery - a manageable total now demanding an easy conclusion.

"To chase 330 is uncharted waters so I'm happy we have the belief to accomplish that now," added Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to repeat it but, should it happen, we know we can succeed."

Those words will be the last rival teams at this tournament should hear.

During the last week a feeling they will win from any position has only strengthened - this triumph following win against Pakistan by 107-run victory despite struggling at 76-7 at one stage.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a match against old rivals England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final place may likely be confirmed.

During that phase they exited the previous year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a game Healy was absent due to damaged tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the first time at a significant event.

Such is her determination, she later said she regretted not playing despite the injury.

But while she later admitted those physical issues have postponed plans to retire, this tournament is expected to be her last as captain in 50-over cricket and she is still to achieve a world championship as captain.

Success in India would take her to the summit of her final mountain.
